Do Police Custody Officers have unique uniforms to show a difference from their colleagues, as they are independent of the case? To be more specific, it is the rank of Sergeant I am enquiring about.
No. All uniforms are standard - it is often the case that frontline officers cover custody as well. The only distinction would be in shoulder number as members of the custody command have the prefix ‘CJ’, however, as stated, the role may be covered by frontline policing officers who would not have this.
