Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.22.025892
I note you seek access to the following information:
ORIGINAL REQUEST:
Please could you tell me the following via email:
How many times did the Met Police visit the following addresses following a report of sexual assault:
Palace of Westminster, SW1A 0AA
and
Portcullis House, SW1A 2LW
Please could you break it down by years:
2022
2021
2020
2019
2018
Could also break it down into no further action, arrest made and charged?
CLARIFICATION -
Apologies for not getting back sooner.
With reference to the bullet points in the order you mentioned:
• when requesting the number of visits ‘following a report of sexual assault’, how soon after any report is made are you seeking this information for (e.g. within 1 week, within 1 month etc.) - However long is reasonable for the report to come back in the required time, but preferably as long as possible
• when you state a ‘Met Police visit’, can you confirm if the information you are seeking concerns visits from on-duty MPS officers in response to any reports - Yes on duty MPS officer/s
• when you state a ‘visit’ concerning any sexual assault offences, are you seeking information related to any reports of incidents on the stated premises, or visits to these addresses following reports of sexual assault offences which may also have occurred elsewhere - Both
• are you seeking the number of reports requiring visits or the number of individual visits from the MPS in response to reports - Just reports
• are you seeking the number of reports requiring visits or the number of individual visits from the MPS in response to reports - Reports made within these years
CLARIFICATION -
Alter the ‘visit’ aspect of your clarification from ‘both’ to ‘information related to any reports of incidents on the stated premises’
I am happy to follow that recommendation if that ensures it is done within the maximum time.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
A Crime Reporting Information System (CRIS) search was conducted for reports of sexual offences for the requested time period. CRIS is a database where information relating to criminal activity and its investigation is recorded. These offence reports were then filtered in Excel for the addresses of Palace of Westminster, Houses of Parliament or Portcullis House. They were then reviewed to determine whether a visit from the MPS occurred in relation to the report.
In total, there were 3 reports of sexual offences within this time period that required an MPS visit to the stated addresses following an incident being logged as occurring at these premises. There was 1 report in 2018, which resulted in a charge. The other 2 were in 2019, which resulted in no further action.
