In relation to the Met’s recruitment eligibility criteria, how long must a person with a conviction (without a custodial sentence) wait before they can apply to be a police officer?

I have been advised that each case is dealt with on its own merits as it would depend on the nature of the conviction and the time elapsed since conviction.
