If your force doesn’t carry out investigative assessments or cannot break the information down this way, please provide me with the number of confirmed crimes that do not qualify for further investigation after your forces initial screening/ investigative process within 24 hours of being reported and were not re opened at any stage.
Please break this information down by offence group as per the count offence classification index and only provide data for unresolved crimes. ie not crimes that were closed after 24 hours because a charge was brought.
B) Please also provide me with the total number of confirmed crimes reported to your force, again broken down by offence group.

Caveat re: Screened-out Offences
All sexual offences are screened in for further investigation. Indecent Images of Children offences are transferred into the MPS for recording where they have been investigated but there are no further lines of enquiry for the MPS to follow up. They are transferred to the MPS on the basis that the suspect lives “somewhere in London”. As such, these offences are screened out.
Please also note that the MPS works within the guidelines of the Crime Assessment Principles to decide on whether a crime will be allocated for further investigation, which all victims are made aware of. I have included a link below to these principles (Pg.4-8) for your reference:
