Q1 - How many police officers undergo consent training as part of their induction to the MET?
Currently, there are four routes into policing in the MPS which contain the same content, which includes the topic ‘policing by consent’.
Q2 - How long is this training?
‘Policing by consent’ includes the lesson ‘Role of the Constable’, which is 120 minutes in duration.
Q3 - Is it compulsory?
All officers must receive this training.
Q4 - What format does the training take - is it interactive or virtual?
This training is classroom based, however there is an option to deliver remotely as mandated by Learning & Development, in line with Covid-19 regulations and restrictions.
