4. Experienced specials

We’re particularly keen to hear from officers with experience of being special sergeants or special inspectors, along with special constables with specialist skills, such as roads policing, financial crime and online crime.

Current specials in England and Wales, including British Transport Police (BTP), may be eligible to bypass the Day 1 assessment as part of the application process.

You will need to submit an application using our online application form. There is a section in the form where you can declare your current service with another police force. When you apply, a reference will be obtained from your current force and, provided it is satisfactory, you will not have to complete a Day 1 Assessment. All applicants will have to pass the Day 2 Assessment. If your application is successful, the training you have already completed will be taken into account when your MSC (Metropolitan Special Constabulary) training programme is devised.

For further information or an informal discussion, please email MSC.Recruitment@met.pnn.police.uk.
