1. Overview

You don't have to be on the front line of policing to be there for London. As a volunteer with the Met, like thousands of people across the capital you could be doing a huge amount to help support and protect our great city.

Making a positive difference

Volunteers benefit the Met in a multitude of ways. They bring a wide range of skills and experience from their daily lives. Met Police Volunteers are placed in office-based and non-operational roles to help us to deliver a better service to the public, while strengthening our invaluable links with the community.

You could be supporting officers in local policing teams; improving standards of customer care; or providing enhanced levels of service and help to the public, our officers and police staff.

All it takes to volunteer is 10 hours a month for at least six months. And in return, you can help enrich your social life, enhance your career, and above all gain a real sense of achievement by giving something back to the community and helping keep our city safe.
