Use your engineering knowledge and experience to help the Metropolitan Police Service fight crime


This position is with the Engineering Infrastructure and Operational Support (EIOS) team within the Technical Support Unit (TSU) in the Specialist Crime and Operations (SC&O) department of the MPS.

The role of the TSU is to install technical equipment in support of police operational work. EIOS engineers provide and maintain technology for the TSU including: networking, IT, video and audio codecs, recording equipment and video monitoring systems, radio equipment and asset management systems using GPS.

Engineers also carry out operational work as required.With increasing work load and technology upgrades, EIOS requires more staff.Having completed an HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering subject, you should have practical experience of carrying out system maintenance and support, and be able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and responsibility. You may be currently working in an engineering role using similar technology and have managed projects. While the role is based in Clapham, EIOS engineers work anywhere in London (and sometimes beyond) and you should be willing to work at height, following training.
