1. Transferring to or rejoining the Met
We are currently recruiting for transferees and rejoiners with particular interest in the Detective Constable rank and in Police Constables with CAD and Safeguarding experience. Please call 01633 632 500 or contact us via our online form for further information and details on how to apply.
Unique professional challenges – and rewards
The size, diversity and importance of our organisation means that we have a huge range of potential career paths, all set against the backdrop of one of the world's most exciting cities. And the rewards available to police officers in London are now better than ever, recognising the unique requirements of working in the capital.
To make a move to the Met, you must first have successfully completed your probationary period with your police force.
Once you’ve submitted your application form, you may be invited for an interview or assessment. If that’s a success, you’ll progress to a standard medical assessment and job-related fitness test.
We'll confirm full details of this selection process on receipt of your completed application form.
All transferees or re-joiners are required to attend an induction day and undertake any relevant training courses before they take up their posting.
You’ll be able to nominate three choices of location in London. We’ll do our best to fit in with your wishes, but much depends on the vacancies available at the time you’re ready to be posted. Please make sure you fully research all the locations you’re interested in for shift patterns, station locations etc.
