Wildlife Crime Unit
Publications
The Wildlife Crime Unit publishes information on a range of wildlife crime issues. Our full colour booklets, leaflets, postcards and posters are intended to increase public awareness of wildlife crime and to provide practical advice.
They are not intended to be definitive statements of the law, but do provide background information that may be useful to those who want to know more.
All of our publications are available free of charge. Please contact us to find out what is available and to order copies.
Exhibitions
As part of our work to increase public awareness of wildlife crime, the Wildlife Crime Unit also takes part in public exhibitions, where seized items are displayed. Most of these last for only one day, but we supplied a number of exhibits to the Wild Tigers of Bandhavgarh exhibition at The Burrell Collection in Glasgow in 2000, and we have permanent wildlife crime exhibitions on public display at London Zoo*, the British Wildlife Centre and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. In 2005, we put on a ten-day exhibition at the Horniman Museum in South-East London, attracting over 2000 visitors.
*Please note that the Wildlife Crime exhibition at London Zoo is temporarily closed while that area of the zoo is refurbished. Check before you visit by telephoning 020 7722 3333.
