Reporting specific types of crime
Transport Network
The following procedures should be generally followed by the customer to report any crime, antisocial behaviour or low-level behaviour on the transport network:
- Reporting a crime in an emergency: Call 999, speak to a member of staff, speak to a police officer on the transport network, use the passenger alarm or Help Point
- Reporting a non-emergency crime: speak to a member of staff, call 101 (on buses), 0800 40 50 40 (DLR, Tube or Overground), contact your local Safer Transport Team or Neighbourhood Policing Team or Transport for London for transport policing information.
- Non emergencies relating to buses, roads, cabs or cycling: Call Metropolitan Police on 101 (24 hour) to report crime on anti-social behaviour affecting the bus and road networks, cabs or cycling
- Non-emergencies on the Tube, DLR and National Rail
Call the British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or contact your local transport policing team or Transport for London for transport policing information and contact details (local leaflets will have local British Transport Police numbers) - Discussing general issues about security with your local team: contact your Safer Transport Team, Neighbourhood Policing Team or Transport for London for transport policing information, or speak to a member of staff.
- Reporting to TfL: To report other safety and security issues on the bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground or taxis and minicabs call Transport for London customer relations on 020 7222 5600 or via tfl.gov.uk To report lost property or to find out if your property has been found visit TfL’s lost property section at www.tfl.gov.uk
