A man who died following a collision in Wellesley Road, Croydon has been named.
Police were called at approximately 14:30hrs on Thursday, 16 October to reports of a male pedestrian injured on the southbound carriageway of Wellesley Road, Croydon following a collision with an articulated lorry.
The driver stopped at the scene.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, believed to be aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed.
While formal identification awaits, the deceased is Maurice Baxter - 80 yrs - from the Croydon area.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at Croydon Mortuary on Monday, 20 October.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to the collision.
