Station PCSO
- Visible, accessible and familiar uniformed presence
- Dealing with enquires from members of the public
- Recording allegations of crime
- A minimum of two days a month on directed community patrols
- Providing operational resilience at times of greatest need
Victim PCSO
- Visible, accessible and familiar uniformed presence
- Updating victims of crime about progress of investigations
- Providing information on additional support services and explain judicial process
- A minimum of six days a month on directed community patrols
- Providing operational resilience at times of greatest need
- Deliver victim and witness support briefings at Ward meetings

Safer Schools PCSO
- Responsibility for a particular school or schools
- Working with educational personnel in partnership to solve problems within the school
- Visible and reassuring patrols in the immediate locality/community around the school
- Gathering criminal intelligence
- Use of restorative justice to deal with incidents involving students
