DAC Janet WilliamsI am Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Specialist Operations within the Metropolitan Police Service. In this capacity I have responsibility for the protection of the Royal Family, the Palace of Westminster, senior politicians, and other VIPs, diplomatic premises, and for security at Heathrow and London City airports. I am also responsible for security and international liaison aspects of the London 2012 Olympic and Para-Olympic Games.

In April 2008 I was appointed the ACPO Lead for e-Crime. As the National lead I welcomed the launch of the PCeU which has already achieved a number of significant successes and endeavours to become a Centre of Excellence to combat e-Crime in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Electronic crime is a growing phenomenon of the twenty first century and has the potential to affect us all. This Unit will provide a law enforcement solution and work towards limiting the impact of this crime on society. They continue to work closely with the Home Office, City of London Police and the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) to address e-Crime issues.
