Getting around during the bank holiday weekend

Travel and transport advice, including any station closures or changes to bus stops is available here from the TFL website.

Report a Crime

On 30th and 31st August if you are a victim of crime at Carnival the following police stations and reception centres at the event are open as dedicated places where you can make a report:

  • Harrow Road police station - 0300 123 1212
    • 325 Harrow Road, Paddington, W9 3RD. Open 24 hours a day.
  • Notting Hill police station - 0300 123 1212
    • 99–101 Ladbroke Road, Notting Hill, W11 3PL. Open 24 hours a day.
  • Barlby Road, junction with Ladbroke Grove. Open between 1400–2000.
  • Lonsdale Road, near to Colville School. Open between 1400–2000.
  • Lancaster Road, junction with Ladbroke Grove. Open between1400–2000.
  • Kensington Park Road, junction with Ladbroke Square.

Any other police station will take your report, or you may wish to visit the Reporting Crime site to report it online. In an emergency you should phone 999.

Media wanting to get updated information or to request an interview about the policing operations for either the Camp for Climate Action (Operation Bentham) or the Notting Hill Carnival should contact the 24 Hour Press Bureau at New Scotland Yard on 020 7230 2171.

Holders of the UK Press Card/Recognised press card from another country:

A dedicated phone line for holders of the UK Press Card or recognised press card from another country who are experiencing problems on the ground can contact 07917 556824 to speak to a press officer who will assist them in resolving the situation. This number will be 24 hours and will be staffed from Wednesday 26th August 2009. Please note this facility is unable to handle formal complaints.
