Mounted Branch Police staffThe Mounted Branch is a working environment where the team ethic is an important principle. Police staff are a vital part of the Mounted Branch team. They include administration suport staff, farriers, horsebox drivers, a saddler, horse trainers, assistant trainers and stablehands.

The horse trainers at Imber Court are responsible for the training and development of young horses when they are first purchased by the Service. The saddler has responsibility for ensuring the horses have properly fitting saddles and other kit, the farriers keep horses shod for the demanding work of being ridden on the streets, remembering the saying, 'No foot, no horse.' Welfare of the horses is a main priority and care of the sick and injured horses falls to the stable hands.
