Chinese and South East Asian Staff Association
Aims of the Association

The Chinese and South East Asian Staff Association was formed in January 2004 with the following aims and objectives:
- to promote understanding of the Chinese & South East Asian customs, culture and values within the Police Service.
- to mentor, assist and support staff who feel that they have been unfairly treated.
- to act as a resource reference for all UK Police Services regarding cultural issues.
- to increase recruitment and improve retention of Chinese and SE Asian staff in all areas of the extended police family in both uniformed and non-uniformed roles.
- to work with other Staff Support Associations and Staff Associations to ensure that the MPS provides equality of opportunity and equal opportunity to all its staff.
- to actively participate in the MPS policy making processes.
- to support and assist all MPS colleagues.
- to challenge unfair practices, processes and behaviour.
- to provide a social network..
The Association represents all serving MPS Police officers, Police staff, Special Constabulary and Police Community Support Officers and their partners. We will also assist Associate and non-members who approach us for advice.
