Bert Moore - OCU Commander
Bert Moore joined the Metropolitan Police in 1986 and has served at Notting Hill, Battersea, Streatham and Brixton police stations. As a Chief Inspector he led on Criminal Justice Policy for the MPS. Promoted to Superintendent in 2003 he served in the Force Firearms Unit, SO19, initially managing training and policy and then leading the ARV reliefs and SFO teams. He moved to SO18 Aviation Security in November 2007. In November 2010 he was promoted to Chief Superintendent and took over as OCU Commander.
Matt Twist - Superintendent (Operations)
Originally from Wales Matt Twist joined the Metropolitan Police in 1996 and was posted to Kensington. On promotion to Sergeant he moved to the pro-active unit at Notting Hill and then on to Special Branch as a DS. On promotion to Inspector in 2002 Matt moved to be a duty officer at Brent and then to DACSO's private office. In 2005 he joined CO19 - Specialist Firearms Command and spent 4 years working on firearms operations. He was promoted to Chief Inspector on 23 Feb 2009 and moved to SO18 - Aviation Security. He took over as Superintendent Operations in November 2010
Sally Benatar- Chief Inspector Partnership and Performance
Sally Benatar joined the Metropolitan Police in 1989, initially working at Leman Street in Tower Hamlets before transferring to Special Branch in 1994. Between 1997 and 2006 she worked as a personal protection officer. She joined SO18 Aviation Security in 2006 as a team inspector and was promoted to chief inspector in 2009. Sally's current role is Chief Inspector Partnership and Performance at Heathrow.
Raven Stevens - Detective Chief Inspector
Raven Stevens joined the MPS in 1986 as a PC at Richmond Police Station before joining the Crime squad in 1989. Raven has served most of his career within the CID, having worked at the South West Area Major Investigations Team, Hammersmith, Lambeth, and New Scotland Yard. His most recent posting was a secondment by the Foreign Office to Bosnia and Herzegovina before joining Heathrow in February of 2009.
Gordon Atkinson - Chief Inspector London City Airport
I was born and grew up in Zimbabwe. On leaving school I joined the former British South Africa Police leaving as the equivalent of a Detective Sergeant after 5 years. I left Zimbabwe in 1981 and joined the Met. My initial posting was to Tottenham where I spent 2 years on a uniform team and 5 years in the Crime Squad and CID. After a short period at Enfield and the Training School, as a recruit instructor, I was promoted and posted to Hampstead Division as a uniform PS. This was followed by 4 years in the DPS covering the North West area. Shortly after being posted to Ealing Borough I was promoted to Inspector and took over a response team. I remained on Ealing Borough in a variety of posts until promoted to my current rank. I remained at Ealing as the Operations Ch Insp for a further 2 years before applying for and being accepted into SO18 as the Chief Inspector for London City Airport.
