BDS – British Deer Society. A charity for deer management in Britain, also provides training for deerstalkers.
 
BERR – Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. Government department, which deals with import and export, licences for firearms.
 
CPSA – Clay Pigeon Shooting Association. National governing body for clay target shooting in England.
 
DEFRA – Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Government department covering rural affairs and legislation.
 
HSE – Health and Safety Executive. National body dealing with information and legislation for the transport manufacture and storage of explosives.
 
MLAGB – Muzzle Loading Association of Great Britain. Organisation for muzzle loading shooting within the UK.
 
NRA – National Rifle Association. The national shooting centre based at Bisley.
 
NSRA – National Smallbore Rifle Association. National governing body for all smallbore rifle and pistol target shooting in the UK.
 
UKPSA – United Kingdom Practical Shooting Association. Governing body for practical shooting in the UK.
