Communication Process

Does your creative material in relation to your photography, media project, TV, or feature film fall into one of these categories:

  • Public safety or likely to impact on traffic
  • Pseudo liveried emergency vehicles or actors in police or contemporary military uniforms
  • Crime enactments viewable from a public place or third party location
  • Weapons viewable/audible from a public place or third party location
  • Nudity or perceived nudity viewable from a public place
  • Filming while on the move* e.g. low-loader, tracking, 'A' frame

Contact your Local Borough Police Filming Officer

Advance Notification
To contact a local police station events officer directly see the Borough Police contacts section where you will find the details of the department that deals with filming.

Late Notification/immediate filming taking place
Where there has been no specific contact with the MPS and you want to notify the MPS of your intention to shoot a scene listed above out of office hours please see our local Borough Police telephone contacts.

Contact your Council Borough Film Officer

To contact a Council Borough Film Officer (BFS) visit the Film London Borough finder section [external site]

If you are filming on any strategic network (TfL roads) then please contact Mr Sean Smith via email.

Online Application

Where you have not engaged BFS or TfL then please complete our online form. We will confirm receipt of your information to the relevant police departments. If you have already completed a Film London 'application to film in London' then please provide a copy of this information to the relevant borough police station in your email.

There is no downloadable application form (F236) for special services of police on this site. Where we agree to assist the industry an application form will be provided by the police.
