On Sunday 12th September 2010, day 2 of a Festival will take place on the Southbank. There is a night time procession (1900hrs) - starting on Victoria Embankment to the South Bank, followed by a night time fire work display on the river (2145hrs).

Road closures

Alfreton Close, SW19 will be closed to traffic (residents facilitated)
from 1200hrs on 14th September 2010.

It is the MPS intention to keep Wimbledon Parkside open but it may
be closed to facilitate the event as required. If the road is closed
Northbound it will close at Cannizaro Road and Somerset Road and
Wimbledon High Street will close at Church Road and Marryat Road.
(Diversion will be via Church Road and then Victoria Drive or Princes
Way) If Southbound closes it will close at Withycombe Road, SW18
(diversion via Victoria Drive and Princes Way) and Queensmere Rd.

Parking Suspensions

Alfreton Close, SW19 & Wimbledon Parkside between
Queensmere Road and Somerset Road.

It is the MPS intention to keep Waldegrave Road open but it will be closed to facilitate the event as required.

If the road is closed it will close Northbound at Shacklegate Lane (diversion via Stanley Road, South Road and Hampton)

Southbound will close at Tower Road (diversion via Strawberry Vale or Tower Road) access maintained to residents of Strawberry Hill Rd and Waldegrave Gardens (from Tower Road)

(2) Westminster Bridge Rd (at St Georges Rd and Baylis Rd)
(3) York Road (At Waterloo Road)

Contingency closures may be implemented during the event including Buckingham Gate, Petty France, Storey's Gate, Broad Sanctuary (westbound from Parliament Square) and the remainder of Victoria Street, Bressenden Place, Lower Grosvenor Place and Grosvenor Place southbound may also be closed if required (see map)

St James's Park, Hyde Park Corner, Park Lane, Marble Arch and ALL approaches will close during the event as required to assit with Procession movements and crowd arrival/dispersal

Piccadilly Underpass should remain open all day: all other approaches may close as required. (see map)

All roads will be re-opened once safe to do so.

Drivers are advised to AVOID the area unless absolutely necessary due to the excessive closures and all day events taking place in the Westminster area
