The drugs problem in London is being tackled jointly by different sectors to seek effective solutions. Individuals, communities, voluntary organisations along with the corporate and public sector, all have a part to play.
GLADA
The Met is a leading partner in the Greater London Alcohol and Drug Alliance (GLADA), which was set up by the Mayor as a strategic level partnership. Incorporating a network of organisations, it aims to improve the collective response to both alcohol and drugs problems, and to provide a mechanism to tackle London-wide priorities.
DIP
The Met is also involved in the national Drugs Intervention
Programme, working with local communities to encourage drug users to participate
in confidential programmes of advice, information and treatment. We work
to help addicts become drug free and diverted away from crime to halt
the cycle of offending. Find out more:

DAT
Through the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships, the Met also has a role to play in the government funded Drug Action Teams, which focus on local issues. For more information go to: http://drugs.homeoffice.gov.uk/dat/
