MPS Diversity and Equality Strategy 2009-2013

The MPS launched its new Diversity and Equality Strategy (2009-2013) on 1st December 2009. This new plan will drive forward our response to addressing the critical issues of diversity and equality, while setting out our aims for tackling discrimination and inequality, and understanding and utilising the diversity of London and of our own workforce.

MPA/ MPS Community Engagement Strategy

Actively engaging with the communities we serve contributes significantly to the improvement of policing services, the reduction of antisocial behaviour and solving crime at all levels.

Communities can only make these contributions if our engagement work is undertaken with a genuine desire to listen and learn.

Working together with the MPA on the strategy demonstrates our commitment to have an approach to engagement that benefits all involved:

  • The MPS will better understand what communities and individuals really need from them.
  • The MPA will be better able to monitor the way in which the MPS undertakes engagement and promotes community confidence.
  • The public will receive the very best police service, delivered to the highest standards.
