Key Initiatives

  • Police are carrying out proactive burglary patrols across Hackney following the launch of the MPS's Operation Bumblebee. Prolific offenders are being targeted and a mobile police station will be present at key 'hotspots' to reassure local residents
  • The work of Hackney’s CCTV detection unit has been recognised by the National Policing Improvement Agency. Residents can feel more confident that evidence has been captured to bring perpetrators to justice, to tackle and deter crime in the borough
  • Hackney's Operation Crackdown team successfully closed down a premises in E5 for a period of three months following reports of anti-social behaviour and drug dealing. One arrest for the possession of class A drugs was also made.

Specifically: robbery replaces street crime; motor vehicle crime and gun enabled crime have been redefined. Click here for crime prevention advice.
