Greenwich cadets join Gym

In an effort to increase their fitness levels all 80 members of Greenwich Volunteer Police Cadets have joined the Gym at St Pauls Academy. Abbeywood.
The unit receives specialist fitness and teamwork coaching from personal
trainer Mairtin McGrath once a month during cadet weekly meetings.

In addition to this 9 cadets are now qualified Sports Leaders and put
the training to good use recently when they organised team games at
a school for children with mild learning difficulties.
The school were so impressed that they have asked the cadets to return
at the Summer Fete where a fun assault course is being planned by the
cadets.
Cadet Paige Scott Yeo said: 'I am really enjoying doing
stuff in the Gym, I've never had time for it with college work, cadets
events at the weekend and I have a job as well. Now I know I can come
to cadets an hour early and go to the gym'
Mairtin McGrath from Max Pro Fitness said: "Its
a pleasure working with the Police Cadets , who show a vast degree of
enthusiasm and commitment to fitness and team events at St Paul's Academy
each month , its great to witness each cadet male and female working
together and demonstrating leadership qualities in a fun environment
lead by a dedicated team of Police Staff".
